Application of hemp fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites

The demand for cannabis fiber in the automotive industry has maintained a fairly high growth rate since 1996. For example, the annual growth rate from 1999 to 2000 was 90%. Hemp fiber can be used for thermoplastic natural fiber composite parts, such as door panels and trunk liners. Each vehicle uses about 5 ~ 10kg of natural fiber. In 2000, about 28200t natural fibers were used in the automotive industry in Europe. Among them, 20000T is flax, 3700t is jute and kenaf, and 3500t is cannabis. Due to the influence of the new molding process - natural fiber polypropylene injection molding, the growth trend of hemp fiber application in the automotive industry will continue in the next few years. The application of building parts and insulating parts accounts for about 615% of the EU hemp fiber output
